ANONYM – Software Engineering SLDP – NYU Roles: Leader and co-collaborator of ANONYM Graduate Semester Long Design Project (G-SLDP) Responsibilities: Responsible for the documentation and the implementation of ANONYM prototype. Documentation consists of Requirements and Analysis Specification (SRS), Software Design Document (SDD), Gantt Chart, and Software Project Management Plan (SPMP). All documentation details the architecture, requirements, software, impacts, responsibilities, schedules, and contributors to the ANONYM project. For the prototype implementation, was responsible for the Natural Language Processing (NLP) of ANONYM as well as the PDF-Filler Police Report algorithm. Misc: ANONYM is an Artificially Intelligent Chatbot that interacts with a user through conversation in order to fill out a police report and send it to the nearest station. The filled report will then be reviewed by ANONYM’s evaluation software and sent out to the nearest police station through a dedicated pipeline. The purpose of ANONYM is to provide users with a means to file a police report anonymously. This is to not only ease and streamline the process of reporting a crime, it also facilitates interaction between law enforcement and citizens without the presence of bias or prejudice.

PCGRL via GA – Researcher and Prototype Dev – NYU Research Roles: Researcher and Prototype Developer of Procedural Content Generation via Genetic Algorithms research paper. Responsibilities: Co-research and main prototype developer for the research project. Research based on a previous study using Procedural Content Generation with Reinforcement Learning. Intention here is to replace RL with Genetic Algorithms as RL is a policy-gradient based approach which proved heavy to run. Translated this to a gradient free approach based on neural networks and genetic algorithms and based the research paper around this. Built neural network through a training process involving the modification of GVGAI levels and getting best chromosomes through the genetic algorithm. Used final evaluation to see how well best chromosome can build a playable level from a randomly generated one. Misc: The main intention of this research is to prove that there are more efficient alternatives to procedural content generation outside of Reinforcement Learning. We tested our methodology on chromosomes running on 15, 20, and 50 different generations and were able to record these results in our paper. The entire process is directly correlated to the study and practice of neuroevolution in Artificial Intelligence practices.

Bittersweet Return (2020) – Independent – NYU Roles: Game Maker Studios 2 Programmer, Art Director, Music, Everything Languages: Game Maker Language Responsibilities: My work here involved the full implementation, design, and execution of the game. Implemented a dialogue system that tracks user choice for alternate endings, created a cutscene system, wrote the entire storyboard, designed the levels and drew every sprite. Additional free resources were used such as art/music from OpenGameArt and Freesound. Misc: This is a 2D overhead walking simulator story experience. Akin to the style of Yume Nikki, this game explores Aila, a young trans woman who is back in her hometown after being away in university for so long. The story explores the bittersweet experience of returning home. This was my final for my Game Development Studio class.

Wandering Ice Breaker (2020) – Team Quaranteam – NYU Roles: Unity 2D Programmer and Sprite Developer Languages: C# Responsibilities: My work involved designing 25 of the 50 tile puzzle levels and coding them in, implementing enemy Artificial Intelligence, creating different tiles with movement / damage properties, and drawing every single tile, enemy, and obstacle using the Piksel desktop application. Misc: A 2D tile puzzle game where you must crack all the ice and reach the end of the level. You must make sure to not walk across any ice tile you already cracked, avoid enemy advances, and make full use of the level in order to win. This was our final for our Game Design class. • Collaborated with 3 developers on 2D tile puzzle game using Unity, C#, and Piksel resulting in a Google Play Store release with over 175+ downloads • Designed and implemented all 50 levels, enemy AI, tile properties, player controls, sprites, and animations

PLEASE READ ME!!!! CONTEXT FOR THIS WEBSITE: This website is made by oSTEM (out in STEM, not ohSTEM as the same suggests) at NYU. A growing concern among students in our University who attend our oSTEM events is being "found out". Essentially, their concern is that family members who might not be entirely OK with this attendance (i.e. Homophobia) might discover what their child/niece/nephew/etc. has been a part of these oSTEM at NYU events. This can lead to many complications/problems such as the student being forcibly "outed", being a target for bullying/abuse, and a possible forced academic resignation. With all these problems presented to us, we wanted to create a fake oSTEM website (ohSTEM) that students can show to their family members. A website that stays true to the professional side of oSTEM, but hides the LGBTQ+ side. This is NOT in any way a hateful attempt to devalue the work that oSTEM does, or to villify the organization. We are doing this AS PART OF oSTEM at NYU in an attempt to protect the identities of all students who attend our events. We are doing this to ensure the safety of our students and the general safety of the LGBTQ+ Community present at New York University.
