Bittersweet Return (2020) – Independent – NYU Roles: Game Maker Studios 2 Programmer, Art Director, Music, Everything Languages: Game Maker Language Responsibilities: My work here involved the full implementation, design, and execution of the game. Implemented a dialogue system that tracks user choice for alternate endings, created a cutscene system, wrote the entire storyboard, designed the levels and drew every sprite. Additional free resources were used such as art/music from OpenGameArt and Freesound. Misc: This is a 2D overhead walking simulator story experience. Akin to the style of Yume Nikki, this game explores Aila, a young trans woman who is back in her hometown after being away in university for so long. The story explores the bittersweet experience of returning home. This was my final for my Game Development Studio class.
