Job Title:&nbsp;Senior Automation Engineer (Automation + Manual)Location:&nbsp;Pune (WFO)Experience Required:&nbsp;6 to 8 YearsJob SummaryThe Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks and test suites across web and API layers. This role requires a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing practices, with the ability to lead testing efforts, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement in quality assurance processes.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Design and implement scalable automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Rest Assured, and TestNG or Gauge&nbsp;</li><li>Develop and execute test cases for functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing across web and API platforms.</li><li>Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA leads to understand requirements and translate them into test strategies.</li><li>Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins) to support automated test execution and reporting&nbsp;</li><li>Conduct code reviews for automation scripts and ensure adherence to best practices.</li><li>Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.</li><li>Perform manual testing, when necessary, especially during regression cycles or exploratory testing phases.</li><li>Mentor junior QA engineers and provide guidance on automation best practices.</li><li>Generate detailed test reports and metrics to communicate test coverage and quality status.</li></ul>Required Skills<ul><li>Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Rest Assured, TestNG, Gauge, or similar tools&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency in Java or Python for writing automation scripts.</li><li>Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.</li><li>Experience with version control systems like Git and test management tools like TestRail or Xray.</li><li>Familiarity with Docker containers and executing tests in containerized environments.</li><li>Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in sprint-based development cycles.</li><li>Good analytical and debugging skills with a keen eye for detail.</li><li>Knowledge of BDD frameworks like Cucumber or JBehave is desirable.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus.</li><li>Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) is an advantage.</li></ul>
