Lead Full Stack Engineer (MERN + Next.js)

Job description:

We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer (4 to 7 years of experience) who isn't just comfortable with the MERN stack, but is an expert in the modern "Vercel-first" ecosystem. You will be the technical anchor for our product, responsible for architecting scalable features, managing complex asynchronous workflows, and mentoring a high-performing team.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Design and implement robust, scalable full-stack applications using the Next.js App Router and React.

• Infrastructure Management: Take ownership of our deployment pipeline on Vercel and manage our backend-as-a-service layer via Supabase (Auth, DB, Storage).

• Workflow Engineering: Architect complex, reliable background jobs and event-driven logic using Inngest to handle non-blocking processes.

• Leadership: Lead code reviews, define engineering standards, and mentor junior/mid-level developers to maintain high code quality.

• Performance Optimization: Ensure Core Web Vitals are met through efficient data fetching, caching strategies, and edge runtime utilization.

Technical Requirements

• Next.js Expert (Deep understanding of App Router, RSCs, and Server Actions).

• Backend Strong experience with Supabase (PostgreSQL, Row Level Security, Edge Functions).

• Automation Proficiency in Inngest for managing reliable, event-driven background tasks.

• DevOps Native-level familiarity with Vercel (Preview environments, Middleware, Edge Config).

• Core Stack Advanced TypeScript, Node.js, and modern React patterns.

• Database Proficiency in SQL, schema design, and performance tuning within PostgreSQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating legacy Express/Node apps to modern Serverless/Edge architectures.

• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and Radix UI (or Shadcn/ui).

• A "product-first" mindset—you care about the why just as much as the how.

• Experience in a startup environment or leading small, agile squads.
