A telepresence robot to help the frontline workers in unprecedented times of COVID was developed, which was controlled remotely using a mobile application along with video-call feature to bridge the gap between Doctors and Patients.

Dr. Moovy - A Telepresence Robot

The aim of our project is to solve a similar kind of problem which involves prototyping a telepresence robot that will have the features of autonomous navigation, path planning, simultaneous localization. The use case of the robot as an initial stage involves a full proof system to navigate in a predefined indoor environment with dynamic changes in the environment. The robot will demonstrate the capabilities of bidirectional face-to-face communication, helping students in lab, doing experiments where faculty can reach them remotely from virtually any place in the world. The human - robot interface can be designed to answer general questions about its purpose, new research projects in the lab, etc. Future possibilities might include abstractions in the software and hardware model to use it to navigate around the campus to assist students, visitors, and industry professionals.

Home automation aims at operating the home electrical systems from the comfort of your couch. Our project aims at collaborating technologies like IOT with embedded systems to improve user-friendliness, ease of access and better data management. It aims at reducing human labor, eradicating human errors, make the process automatic and portable. We have developed a powerful home automation system by using 2 way switches and ESP 8266 microcontroller and relay module. Relay module acts as a switch and the two way switch combines to give the successful operation. An android application is used to actuate the relay module.

This project aim was to investigate how the heating of MCB's and Fuses causes the breakdown in circuits and further modifying the design so as to reduce the damages. I created a VI in LABVIEW to measure the temperature using NI modules and thermocouples. The recorded data was then analyzed using images from a Thermal or Heat Camera using FLIR thermal analysis software.

Prediction of tool wear by monitoring the vibrations generally based onthe concept, where the vibration created during the machining process is incorrelation with the tool wear phenomenon. The prior detection of toolwear phenomenon can provide increase of performance in process of machining. Substantial amount of variations in the vibrations of themachine and tool are acquired through the MPU-6050 sensor and isuploaded to a cloud server. Relationship was established between thespeed, depth of cut, feed rate and vibrations. With all the values recordedfrom the cloud server a machine learning mode was trained to predict the tool wear prior to the occurrence of this phenomenon. These results provideinitial elements towards the implementation of online monitoring and predictive maintenance of the tools and machine.

IoT based Tool Wear Predicion

Developed telepresence technology to the need of the hour minimizing the risk of hospital staff’s exposure to the virus. The robot features an app-based remote control, audio conferencing between the patient and doctor, extended battery backup and highly manoeuvrable robot due to its Mecanum 4-wheel drive configuration. Also, cloud-based communication and internet-based control methods were used to move anywhere in the hospital.
