I joined the Inventory Reverse Logistics team of the FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) tech department as a new grad. My major tasks included 1) performing frontend development work to rebuild the new inventory removal UI which consisted of 7 standalone SellerCentral UI pages, each serving 7-12 worldwide marketplaces. 2) implemented marketing UI for an inventory liquidation feature to guide sellers enrolling in liquidation and used frontend metrics to collect data for business analysis. The marketing contributed to large seller value recovery in US, UK, and EU marketplaces. 3) designed and implemented a set of backend APIs for a new type of auto removal with full metrics, alarm, and dashboard setup.

Software Development Engineer

I was promoted after delivering inventory reverse shipment address validation project, which aimed to support 3 major user stories: 1) verifying addresses in the UI with feedback, 2) pausing backend order creation if its address is inside blocklist, and 3) allowing the operation team to self-service manage the blocklist in a console.
As project leader, I led a team of up to three SDEs during the project. Together, we built a new AWS Cloud Native micro-service to evolve the system architecture and integrated it with three different existing services and a UI page.
The product was delivered in three phases over a six-month period and received praise from the FBA VP and the European operation team post-launch. This was due to its effective reduction of chaos brought by invalid addresses.
