Developer participating in a team, tasked with implementing a major asp.net mvc application.  On the back-end, the application uses C#, .Net/ASP.NET 4.5, IIS Server, SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 technology.  On the browser client frontend, JQuery, Knockout, Bootstrap and Datatables.net JavaScript frameworks are employed to create a user experience replicating the Visual Basic Desktop Application that this product was replacing. The application is used by CATIC Agents, throughout New England, to create Title Insurance Policies and all of the financial documentation required when closing a real-estate transaction. The conversion of this application from VBA Desktop Application to Web Application will allow CATIC to save significant costs in testing and software update distribution, as well as enable them to more easily adapt the application to the ever changing regulatory landscape behind the insurance and mortgage industries. Responsible for designing and implementing major enhancements for various backend applications. One application that I worked on used the Java SE platform, JDBC and Java Swing.  The primary goal of the enhancements was to take advantage of Java’s native multi-threaded technology and provide an intuitive user interface for monitoring the health and performance of the application in real-time.  This application was responsible for processing transactions from over 9000 Fiserv Agent Terminals.

Created a major Microsoft Windows multi-threaded desktop application that analyzes and optimizes customer production data to minimize cutting time and user intervention on a high volume, high reliability soft materials cutter.  Used Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, .NET 2.0 with C# and C++ to design, implement, debug and test at beta customer sites.

Senior Principal Software Engineer

Project Technical Lead and developer for a major GUI/Relational-Database/Middleware project.  Product was based on Sun Java 2/Swing, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Internet Explorer.  Created architecture, software requirements and design specifications based on product marketing input and extensive interviews with current customers. Implemented a package of reusable graphical controls which extensively sub classed standard Java Swing Components.  Implemented stored procedures, triggers and extended stored procedures for the Microsoft SQL Server Database.  The extended stored procedures, written using Microsoft’s Open Data Services (ODS) API, acted as real-time middleware between the product and a variety of applications that subscribed to the database for data change notification.  Acted as mentor and delegator to the other members of the team.  Created and maintained Visual Source Safe software repository for all components of the project.

Team lead and developer responsible for designing and implementing a major asp.net web forms application.  This application was built on ASP.NET 3.5, SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 technology.  The web application is used by Fiserv Walk-In Agents to accept cash payments for thousands of client billers (Utilities, Phone Companies, Credit Card Companies) throughout the country.  On the browser client, JavaScript and Ajax were utilized to create a user experience that minimized errors thru visual feedback to the agent and asynchronous validation of input data.  On the server side, Microsoft Web Services were used to interact with a separate payment platform in real-time.  SQL Server 2008 was used for persisting a variety of user configuration, application configuration and payment transaction information.  I was involved, hands on, in the implementation of this application using all of the previously mentioned technologies.
