Without the body, the mind suffers.  I chose to make improvements in my life by staying physically active and lifting weights every morning and changing my diet.  As I wanted to progress, I needed an app that would function the way I worked; heavy compound lifts, tracking weight and reps, and possibly some HIIT training riding a stationary bike or doing sprints.  I felt a lot of different apps lacked some key features that catered to these needs. 

The Chisel Fitness App is a cross platform workout and measurement logging app, supporting iOS, Android, and Web.  I wrote this using a number of different technologies including Ionic Framework 4, Angular 8 with NgRx, Firebase Firestore for real time updates, and Firebase’s Functions.

Presently, I’m creating an Admin site to allow for additions to the exercise catalog and exercise program creation written in Angular 8 utilizing the Firebase’s Firestore and Functions for storage and user administration.

Also within the code ecosystem, I’ve set up Google Cloud Build to deploy the Chisel Fitness App, for web, and the Chisel Fitness Admin site to deploy to Google’s App Engine.

People take their health for granted.  As our modern conveniences grow to meet the problems of life, we choose the path of least resistance.  We're becoming overworked, overfed, and lazy.  These conveniences take a toll on our most valuable asset, our health.

As I've gone through my health journey; trying to cut fat, gain muscle, eat better, and drink less, I discovered exercise and eating health is much more.  It gifts you discipline to accomplish something meaningful, and to be better for those around you.  With this project, my hope is that I'm providing tools to those starting out in their fitness journey, to cut through fads, and gain solid principles.

Created using the Ionic Framework, AngularJS, ES6 I utilized my current front end skill set to create a hybrid application for a High Intensity Interval Training Timer that allows it's users to concentrate on their workout without having to look at a clock.  The app allows the user to set the number of intervals they choose to perform, the amount of time for an interval, and a rest period between intervals.  The app uses three notifications to alert users to sprint, sprint complete, and finally when the set of intervals has been completed.
