As a Voluntary Project Lead, I had the opportunity to work on the MusicBrainz Android application, a music metadata database that allows users to identify, tag, and catalog their music collection.

My primary responsibility was to revive the stale project and work on adding MusicBrainz support. This involved collaborating with a team of developers to integrate MusicBrainz data into the Android application, ensuring that the application was up-to-date and providing accurate and reliable information to users. 

In addition, I worked on adding feature tag local audio files utilizing MusicBrainz database, which allowed users to identify and tag their music files with accurate metadata.

One of my most significant contributions to the project was adding experimental ListenBrainz listen submission support, which enabled users to contribute their listening data to the ListenBrainz project, an open-source project that collects and analyzes listening habits.

As a Software Developer Intern at VideoLan Foundation, I had the opportunity to work closely with mentors on VLC media player, a free and open-source multimedia player that supports a wide range of audio and video formats.

During my internship, I focused on adding Rust to VLC's build system, which involved developing support libraries to interface Rust and C code inside VLC's codebase. This required me to have a strong understanding of both Rust and C programming languages, as well as experience with software development tools such as Git, Makefiles, and build systems.

One of my major contributions to the project was the addition of a cuesheet module to parse playlists in Rust. This module enabled VLC to better support playlists and improve its overall performance and functionality.

Software Engineer Intern

As a Full Stack Software Developer at MetaBrainz and the Project Lead of ListenBrainz and CritiqueBrainz,  I am an active contributor to various MetaBrainz projects. My work focuses on open-source recommendation generation and music discovery features, where I have utilized my experience with Flask, React, RabbitMQ Redis, and Postgres to develop scalable and performant solutions.

In addition to my technical expertise, I also have experience in data wrangling and data analysis, which I leverage to improve our recommendation algorithms and drive insights into user behavior.
