Worked on the Digital Terms, Activations, and Porting (DTAP) team as a Backend Software Engineer where I enhanced and supported various microservices using Java Springboot and ELK.

My role on this team included taking ownership of the Terms and Conditions microservice, where I was the primary point of contact for questions or concerns for different teams. In addition to this, I also supported the enchancement of our other microservices, improving the response time of our APIs by an average of 56%.

Senior Software Engineer

My research for this position focused on human-computer interaction and developer productivity,  specifically code analysis and development tools. My role involved assisting in the development of a python package used for analyzing the shape of code associated with GitHub repositories. Additionally, I also implemented a variety of data analysis techniques using Python to visualize data stored in a remote MongoDB server on a Digital Ocean droplet.

Undergraduate Research Assistant at People, Agents, InteRactions, and Systems Laboratory

In this role, I worked as a Backend software engineer on AT&T Cybersecurity's Unified Security Management Anywhere (USMA) SaaS product alongside other developers in an agile Scrum team. This platform was used for threat analysis and detection across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. 

My contribution to this team involved assisting in the development and migration process for a new in-house Identity Provider (IdP) service to move away from our legacy service which was released to over 3,000 customer instances. This involved developing the REST API endpoints used for this service using Java Spring Boot, assisting in the development of the Rundeck jobs used for migration, and assisting in resolving any defects that were discovered.

In addition to developing this new IdP service, I also worked on developing an in-house Endpoint Agent 
using Osquery and Python (Flask) to develop new REST endpoints used to provide continuous endpoint security monitoring.

Software Engineer I

For this role, I collaborated alongside several PhD students to research the applications of using Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) devices. This involved creating two separate gamified platforms using C/C++, Python, and Node.js. These platforms were then used along with an EMOTIV EPOC+ headset to detect EEG activity while participants were using these applications. Following the completion of our research, we presented our results at both UT Day on the Hill and EURēCA, as well as published our work in ASME 2020.

Undergraduate Research Assistant at Nonlinear Bio-Dynamics Laboratory

Worked as a full stack developer on our internal construction job management application, ORCA. This application provides a variety of services to technicians in the field, and my team's particular contribution was associated with scheduling. This involved streamlining the current scheduling process by providing daily work activity and assignments, saving hours of work on a daily basis, and providing support for 10,000+ technicians nationwide. 

My role in this position involved working with Java/Spring designing numerous REST API endpoints and SQL queries using Oracle DB on the backend, and also creating new components on the front end using Angular and Typescript. In addition to this, I also worked on increasing our overall test coverage for the backend and frontend using JUnit and Karma.

Software Engineer II

Worked as an intern under the mentorship of Dr. Pablo Moriano in the Computer Science and Mathematics division. During my time in this position, we collaborated to develop a Graph-Based Machine Learning model used to improve early defect detection in open-source repositories on GitHub using Just-In-Time prediction. This involved researching how the contribution graph created from developers' commit history could improve our model's efficacy for link prediction to determine if new commits would introduce a defect.

At the end of this internship term, I presented the results of our work at the ORNL SULI Poster Session.

SULI Machine Learning Intern

Worked alongside project managers and clients to provide estimates and solutions for a variety of software engineering problems. This involved optimizing and updating client's websites using Node.js and React.js, creating custom web interfaces used for communicating with Internet of Things (IoT) devices using React Native and Amazon Web Services (AWS), and performing Quality Assurance to find vulnerabilities and defects in the client's software.
