Characterized the vibroacoustical environments of two nuclear reactors. Measurements consisted of background noise spectra (with and without coolant pumps) and reverberation times within the 70,000 gallon pool that cools and shields the fuel in the 1 MW research reactor on Penn State’s campus using two hydrophones, a piezoelectric projector, and an accelerometer. Several signal-processing techniques were demonstrated to enhance the measured results. Background vibrational measurement were also taken at the 250 MW Advanced Test Reactor, located at the Idaho National Laboratory, using accelerometers mounted outside the reactor’s pressure vessel and on plumbing.

Research Assistant

Instructed mechanical engineering students in laboratory setting, lecturing on topics such as fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Designed curriculum and created hands-on learning environment to merge theoretical and real-world application. Advised students on how to be successful and achieve goals. Stayed updated on innovations and changes within course field.

Adjunct Instructor

Operated recording equipment for University Media Services.
Responsible for troubleshooting technical failures, recording 
professional musicians and students, and working with
programs such as Audacity, Cubase, Garage Band. Extensive
use of hardware and software on PC as well as Mac. Proficient
in wiring techniques, acoustic optimization, and level mixing.

Recording Technician

Heat transfer engineer with a focus on vapor chamber cooling with applications to microelectronics. Experimentally characterized heat transfer properties of vapor chambers to better understand their behavior under specific conditions and operating states for implementation into electronics-based technologies. Worked with T-type thermocouples, flow channels, cooling fins, liquid cooling cycles, large arrays of sensors and devices (input and output). Acquired experience based on industry standards and applied those skills to further my education. Honed my expertise in the field of science and technology while helping reinforce my background to eventually succeed in the competitive Silicon Valley.

Platform Architecture Engineer - Intern

Managed a stage crew during performances at the Center
for Performing Arts. Trained new crew members, facilitated
the needs of performers, greeted patrons, operated lighting 
and mechanical equipment. Administrated orders to a group 
ranging from 2-5 people at a time. Coordinated contingencies
based on the size, location, and specifics of the event.

Crew Manager

NOAA Fellow recipient conducting research focused on climate and human interaction in urban areas through utilization of field experiments and numerical models. Conceptualized and created high-level products for NOAA to expand understanding of extreme heat events in urban areas. Analyzed data to better understand how momentum, energy, and mass are transported in the urban boundary layer, with the intention of targeting and mitigating the negative effects of urban climate. Formulated image processing algorithms in real time for satellite data in cities. Managed research instruments such as sonic anemometers, gas analyzers, thermal cameras, and 3D printers.

NOAA-CESSRST Graduate Research Fellow

Worked together with the Chair of the Acoustics Department toward the publication of the collected works of Dr. Leo Leroy Beranek, co-founder of BBN Technologies (Bolt, Beranek, and Newman). Organized reprints, managed quality control of delicate documents, coordinated with Acoustics Department on essential material regarding Dr. Beranek's work. Gained extensive knowledge of the language, format, and composition of scholarly publication.

Project Archivist

Maintained a complete outdoor studio, taught children how to 
use basic recording equipment, and created a music record from
The ground up using a Behringer SX2442FX Eurodesk and a 
Lexicon Lambda USB interface.

Specialist

Assisted various professors in Math, Physics, and Chemistry. Facilitated students in problem solving and understanding of science related material. Taught undergraduates adaptability, flexibility, and innovation using many of the skills gained in my personal experiences and education.

Academic Facilitator

Aided the chair of the Music Department in answering

of faculty, greeting prospective students and their parents.

Office Assistant

Signal processing software development for nuclear reactor monitoring. Created several Guided User Interfaces (GUIs) for interacting and analyzing vibrational measurements using accelerometers on the outer enclosure of the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) at Idaho National Laboratory. Worked toward relating vibrational behavior to reactor operating conditions.

Human Factors, Controls & Statistics - Intern

Headed a research project with the Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR) to develop an air temperature model derived using remote sensing data and complex machine learning algorithms. The resulting product was published on a provisional basis and is being used to quantify the negative effects that cities have on heat generation. Accelerated the testing of the STAR group's land surface temperature product, which resulted in a first-author publication in a highly competitive journal: Remote Sensing of Environment.

Graduate Intern

Consolidation, preparation, and understanding of Acoustics equipment. Sound Level Meters, Oscilloscopes, Hydrophones, Dynamic Signal Analyzers etc. were used. Learned about the proper handling of delicate laboratory equipment.

Laboratory Technician

Lead electronics and engineering product development centered around innovation and real-world applications to open-source hardware and software development in engineering. Software and hardware development are central to the Maker Portal mission statement, where rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept methods are the focus, using tools such as Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson Nano, Arduino, Python, and a wide range of sensors: inertial measurement units (accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers), pressure transducers (gauge, differential, acoustic), temperature sensors (thermocouples, thermistors, infrared), wireless modules (Bluetooth, LoRa, WiFi), weighing sensors (load cells, strain gauges, FSRs), motors (servos, steppers, fans), light detectors (LiDAR, photodiodes).

Principal Engineer

I was instrumental in enhancing the integration of audio device prototypes at Meta, driving innovation through tool design and collaboration.  

• Developed internal tools that improved the efficiency of prototype integration processes.  
• Worked with cross-platform engineers to establish advanced testing environments for audio technologies (psycho-acoustic metrics, such as: evaluation of speech quality and intelligibility).
• Leveraged various hardware technologies (transducers, digital interfaces, audio ICs, and DSPs) to explore cutting-edge metaverse technologies.
