B Scrape - Scraping Website with WAF (Confidential)

I've voluntarily developed & published the fastest, smallest (in APK size) Bangla Quran App under the alquranbd.com project. 

It was the first & only app that had a Full Offline Bangla Quran Searching feature.

The app was developed twice, both major versions were developed by me.

The version 1 (Hybrid):
Version 1 was developed using Web Technologies, such as Ionic, and Angular.js to bundle and ship as an APK. But after releasing version 1 I found it was slow, especially for low-end devices, at that I was using an Android Phone which had only 512MB RAM, to be exact it was: Symphony Xplorer W35.

So, I wasn't satisfied with version 1, So I decided to use the knowledge that I had learned from my mentor Zulkarnine Mahmud (zulkarnine.com) in 2014-2015.

The version 2 (Native Java, later Kotlin):
Version 2 was a success, it was high performant even with Full-Text Search Feature, and Text Matching Highlighting Feature when searching. And the exciting part was that It was only under 2.5MB!

The Project's Founder Niamul Hasan was very impressed by the work, as he says very frequently that I've completed the Native Android App in only 1 month! and not only that It was my first production-ready Android Application.

The most heartfelt project I've worked on.

At Daily Islam, I was a swiss-army-knife for tech!

The app consists of multiple modules, each of them rich in features & functionalities.

I had instruction from management to make sure not to share the already existing codebase, making already existing modules/features codebase secure and confidential for that reason I split the whole app into multiple repositories by modules/features with separate GitHub repositories for each, I used Git Submodule for the purpose. Currently, we've 20+ repositories(submodules) for the Android App.

* The Quran and Dua module was developed using Voyager CRUD Library (although manual override was needed).
* The Hadith, Lifestyle, 5 Pillars, Forms, Prayer, and Advance was developed using Vue.js with a custom elegant design, which acts like a SPA.
* Nearly every module has a shared functionality for Reference System (it is a Laravel module).
* Tinymce Editor Plugin for Quran, Hadith, Dua, etc Reference Linking feature right into the Editor.
* Full-Text Search feature using ElasticSearch.
* Prayer module has Mapbox integration which shows Polygon Geo Location data for understanding usage of the Nearby Mosuqes feature.
* Forms module is for Quiz Competition Events, it's like Google Forms but far more sophisticated in terms of the Conditionals Builder system it has, and the type of fields it supports.
* The Five Pillars module is sophisticated in terms of its ability to build dynamic content easily via Drag/Drop functionality and reference system integration and supports various components building blocks such as Heading, Statement, Tip, Image, Video, Lifestyle Video, Lottie Animation.
* The Lifestyle module has integration with TUS Upload (Vimeo) Protocol for Uploading Large Videos, and also support for transferring Videos from YouTube to our system easily without downloading them in your system.

Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah is a Hadith Book which contains 40k+ Hadiths, We had sources for OCR-based data for this and others books, but no structured data.

At Daily Islam, out of many responsibilities, I had the responsibility of a Data Scientist, somewhat I was Swiss-army-knife for Tech!

I've done:
- Develop a crawler, and scraping tool to scrape more than 25 books.
- Analyze data programmatically and visually to find patterns for each different book and customize the Node.js program I've developed.
- Make sure not to miss any Hadith unorganized, concatenated.
- Make sure data is organized into the right categories (Kitab, Chapter).
- Make sure not to include any unwanted OCR texts.
- Output data in JSON formats and seeding them in Daily Islam's Backend.

Let's talk about numbers, Before, the growth rate was 1k Google Clicks per month (Oct 2023), After, the growth rate is now 30k Google Clicks per month (Sep 2024), it's a whopping 30x growth within about a year!
