The RopaRun is the longest non-stop relay race in the world: it's not only a unique running event but also has a unique goal: "Aiming to add life to the days that remain, when no more days can be added to life" While working with the RopaRun I was a member of the permanent group of 50 volunteers, who are constantly busy dedicating time and energy to the planning and organisation of this event. In the position I was responsible for the technology part of the organisation. This meant building the web part of the event, making live coverage possible, starting up an text-message gateway, making the RopaRun more aware on the web with the end result of getting more attention for the good cause. During the RopaRun itself I was also one of the four press photographers.
