Senior Product Designer

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who can own large product areas end-to-end and provide design leadership across a growing multidisciplinary team. This person is equal parts product thinker, systems designer, and craft-obsessed visual/motion designer, someone who understands food-ordering paradigms inside-out and can guide other designers to elevate the work.

The Role

As a Senior Product Designer at 3Owl, you will partner closely with leadership, engineering, and product management to deliver high-impact work directly to our restaurant clients. You will own major product initiatives from early exploration through final production, while also thinking systematically and helping set the design quality bar for the rest of the team.

You will provide guidance, structure, and mentorship to other designers within the organization and ensure that our work is both visually refined and grounded in restaurant ordering logic, product constraints, and business goals. What You’ll Do

Own End-to-End Product Workstreams

• Lead major initiatives across web and app ordering experiences (browse, customization, re-order flows, checkout, menu logic, loyalty, etc.).
  
  

• Define problem spaces, map journeys, create prototypes, and deliver pixel-perfect production files.
  
  

• Build, maintain, and evolve our design systems for restaurant commerce.

Provide Design Leadership

• Offer creative direction, critique, and mentorship to other designers on the team.
  
  

• Uphold and elevate visual, interaction, and motion design standards across workstreams.
  
  

• Partner with design and product leadership to shape processes, patterns, and documentation so the whole team levels up.

Bring Product Thinking to Every Decision

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope MVPs, define requirements, and prioritize work.
  
  

• Bring data, AI insights, user testing results, and business logic into the design conversation.
  
  

• Articulate tradeoffs, constraints, decisions, and rationale in a clear, structured way for both internal and client teams.

Guide and Execute User Testing

• Plan and conduct both manual and automated user tests.
  
  

• Analyze results and translate findings into actionable design improvements.
  
  

• Support other designers in developing hypotheses and testable solutions.

Collaborate with Engineers (Onshore & Offshore)

• Provide clear specs, documentation, and prototypes to ensure high-quality implementation.
  
  

• Work closely with distributed teams during sprints, QA, and feature launches.
  
  

• Serve as a bridge between design and engineering across time zones.

Craft Exceptional Visual and Motion Design

• Own visual design direction for your projects and support others in improving theirs.
  
  

• Define motion principles and micro-interactions that make the experience feel refined and intentional.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ years of product design experience, including leading or owning major product workstreams.
  
  

• Meaningful experience in commerce or transactional products (ordering, checkout, loyalty, marketplace, subscription, etc.).
  
  

• Direct familiarity with food ordering paradigms, including menu architecture, modifiers, combos, fees, fulfillment modes, and loyalty structures.
  
  

• Proven ability to direct, mentor, and elevate designers while still executing high-level work yourself.
  
  

• Strong product sensibilities: you understand constraints, business needs, and technical realities.
  
  

• Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams and handling detailed handoff processes.
  
  

• Excellent communication: clear rationale, strong storytelling, and the ability to align stakeholders.
  
  

• A high bar for visual design, interaction design, and pattern creation.
  
  

• Motion design proficiency (After Effects, Principle, ProtoPie, Rive, or similar).
  
  

• Experience with user testing, experimentation, and research-backed iteration.

Nice to Have

• Experience with restaurant commerce tools like Shopify, Olo, Toast, Punchh, or other ordering/loyalty systems.
  
  

• Experience designing dashboards or data products with AI-driven insights.
  
  

• Experience in agency/consulting environments with multiple brands and parallel workstreams.
  
  

Knowledge of accessibility and performance best practices for commerce.
