Instrumented a shoe with pressure sensors to detect activities such as walking, running and provide a feedback using an Android app. Also added a pair of disc motors to provide navigation guidance using Google maps 

Activity Recognition Shoe

Implemented the MSI cache coherence protocol among private caches for four-core processor using C.
As for the eviction logic, implemented the LRU policy. 

Cache Lab

Design of 16 bit thumb processor based on design of ARM processor instruction set(36 instructions). A 5 stage pipeline accompanied with data forwarding was designed. Testing and simulation was done using i-sim and Nexyx-2 board. Project is on going with design of floating point unit and multiply accumulate to be included further.

Design an implementation of thumb processor on FPGA.

Implemented a File Caching Proxy to support different file operations among Multiple Clients and a Server. The proxy emulated standard C library file operations and implemented an LRU cache. The clients could perform concurrent read and writes to the same file. Made use of Java RMI for the communication between the proxy and server.

Configured and deployed an Elastic Load Balancer along with an Auto Scaling Group on AWS.
Developed elasticity policies to maintain the QoS of a web service that also deals with resource failure.


Horizontal Scaling and Advanced Resource Scaling

Implemented a 3-Tier web service to simulate an online store. Analyzed the bottlenecks in the system and accordingly designed techniques to scale up and scale down. Implemented Auto-scaling logic and a DB cache to handle varying request load with a goal of minimizing the number of request drops. 

Implementation and Performance Tuning of a Scalable Web Serv

Implemented a 64 bit general purpose dynamic storage allocator for C programs. Supported malloc, free, calloc and realloc functions. One of the major component of this project was extensive use of GDB to debug memory related issues.

Built a performant and reliable web service on the cloud within a specified budget 
Designed, developed, deployed and optimized functional web-servers that can handle a high load (~ tens of thousands of requests per second).
Implemented Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) on a large data set (~ 1 TB) and loaded the data into MySQL and HBase systems.
