Technical Architect, Cloud Computing & DevOps

Developed a modular and loosely coupled platform based on ‘Spring Integration’ framework which uses Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP). The platform serves as a digital asset management system for a large US based retail organization involving 50+ systems from various business groups consuming and creating digital assets and utilizing the platform services.  

Developed "Centralized Log Management" for multi node clustered environments in modern applications. Prototypes were built based on open source projects like LogStash, ElasticSearch as well as licensed products such as Splunk. Implementation has been adopted by multiple business units to gain valuable insights into application health and analytics data. Reduced debugging and tracing time in clustered environments by 15% in addition to benefits to operations and management teams.

Senior Developer

- Vishal was involved in development of a virtual product sampling application for a large US based retail organization which reduces cost of "product sampling" by making the sampling process virtual. Cost savings, reduced time to market and reduced waste of materials have lead this product to be a pioneer in this area. Vishal developed web services which expose the product data and built integration with platform.

Designed and implemented monitoring framework for live production system & stabilizing the system involving a full stack of J2EE based application in a clustered setup and Oracle DB. Performance tuned code and JVM with tools such as jProfiler, HPJTune. The platform was data intensive product lifecycle management (PLM) platform with integrations to enterprise resource planning and CAD/CAM systems.

Lead a team of 5 offshore engineers designing, developing and reviewing modules based on requirements gathering and analysis on a day to day basis. Planning and execution of releases to production every 6 weeks.

Problem management, analysis of production issues with a team of DB and integration experts. Designed and implemented  a vault (data) merge strategy with a low-risk phased approach at a very low investment de-risking mass data migrations and reducing the cost of migration by approx. 35%

Technical Lead, Onsite Coordinator

Developed integration modules and adapters for third party systems connecting to product data management system. Bug fixes and feature development for Java based data migration framework for data loading, migration and retrieval. Batch load and testing of data migration from legacy systems.
Developed Apache Cocoon, FOP, XSLT based reporting application for BOM reports which reads data from application database to generate BOM reports in PDF, Excel and CSV format
