Pivoting story of Superr.tools : Not-So-Unique Idea

Superr.Tools wasn’t born out of a grand vision—it started as a solution to a very relatable problem. Our daily lives are filled with small but essential pieces like washing slips, fridge receipts, shoe purchase slips, and warranty cards. We named this initial project BillsVault. It aimed to organize these everyday slips.

However, the signs weren’t in our favor. While the idea solved our problem, early feedback showed it didn’t resonate with others. People were already sharing and managing such documents through WhatsApp and other means. The concept fell flat, and we quickly realized it wasn’t the solution people were looking for.

The Birth of a Not-So-Unique Idea: Superr.tools

We softly pivoted. The problem we noticed was that many good YouTubers include tools and resources in their video descriptions. These are often genuine affiliate links, which is a great way to monetize. However, this approach has some drawbacks:

  • Lack of transparency: Viewers don’t always know what they’re clicking on until they visit the site.

  • No analytics: Creators don’t get insights into who is clicking or where those clicks are coming from.

  • Cluttered descriptions: Long lists of links can feel messy and overwhelming.

  • Tedious updates: If an affiliate link changes, creators must manually update every YouTube video description one by one.

  • Error Prone: Higher chances of creating errors or spelling mistake or what not.

This sparked an not-so-unique-idea: let’s provide creators --

"Simple, single link where they can easily showcase the tools and resources they use to create their best work. This link would offer a clean and organized way to present their finest products and services while being easier to manage and update."

Then we refined our pitch to something simple and catchy: “Link in Bio.” 🎯

But guess what? As soon as we called it that, we realized we weren’t alone in the arena—there were loads of competitors. And leading the pack? Linktree—the OG, everyone’s favorite, and even celebrities using it. 😅

So naturally, the big question hit us: "Should we even try to build ?" 🤔

After a little soul-searching, my younger brother and I decided, “Let’s take this as a challenge!” 💪 We started working on it during weekends because, well, we both have full-time jobs.

By November, we launched our beta program—whatever we had built, flaws and all. Some bits were good, some...not so much. But hey, we were doing everything ourselves—UX, UI, and design ideas from the internet. 🛠️💻

November also marked a new chapter: I began posting regular updates on LinkedIn, even the small ones. 🚀

To our surprise, the feedback was amazing! One person even sent us a detailed breakdown of our public site and dashboard—a complete doucment feedback, really. 🩻💡 That gave us a solid direction to improve. For the first time, it felt like this could actually be something. 🎉

Do we know what is know as perfect market fit yet? Honestly, no clue. 🤷‍♂️

But hearing that it’s a good product with potential (and just needs some polishing) was incredibly motivating.
