Vehicle Management System (VMS) is developed to track the number and types of vehicles owned by departments of Punjab under various districts. Vehicle information such as vehicle marked to the officer, driver information, vehicle status, fuel, and maintenance information is collected. Fuel and Maintenance bills are passed through this portal into the Govt. of Punjab Treasury portal. In the first year of its launch, VMS saved more than Rs. 170 Million for the State Government.
Salient Features are given below:
i. Availability of vehicles and POL Expenditure at a particular Office, Tehsil, District, and State HQs, etc.
ii. Each earmarked vehicle mapped with HRMS Code.
iii. Intimation regarding No. of Vehicle with an Official.
iv. Intimation of excess use of a vehicle to Seniors Officials.
v. Helping state government in crisis by providing information like vehicle available at particular region/institute/offices of the state.
