I have been lead developer and joint project manager on the Red Nose Day Shop project, from initial consultation with the client through to delivery. The site has been an interesting project; it is three “shops” in one site, each with a different checkout flow. The site provides three checkouts for ordering free fundraising packs, resources for schools as well as general merchandise.
The January release saw the addition of the merchandise checkout, with transaction peeks of over 1 order per second during pre-event TV shows. Stock management has been an important consideration with special limited edition Bake Off aprons expected to sell out minutes after release in time with the TV programmes.
I have been leading developers working remotely on the project from France and Romania, working with Comic Relief’s in house design team.
