Remember lockdown?
Well, I don't want to go there...but surely there is one thing we all loved at that time: the comfort of our home, the art of doing nothing, and maybe, maybe some remote opportunities!
Soon, reality called. I had to go to university, took admission, and the session began. A year later, during my sophomore year, something incredible happened: I got my first freelance gig!
Yes, you guessed it right. This article is all about freelancing.
Before getting into college, I was inspired to be a writer who, with her writings, can explain concepts easily, can make a way to the heart of people and can truly connect. My inspiration? My elder sister!
But somehow I knew that if not full-time, I would love to do it as a part-time or freelancer. During my sophomore year, I got an internship as a Technical Writer in a Bangalore-based company.
Pause! Pause!
Oh my god! Did I just crack a remote internship in BLR amidst the global crisis?
From there, I started researching deeply into the technical trends, cloud computing, GCP, AWS, etc. Wrote some pieces of articles, got feedback, worked on improvements and got better. I knew I loved it. So, I didn't stop! After four months, my contract was over, but the zeal to explain through my words was on fire! I kept on writing, be it was a technical topic or a non-technical.
Then came the next surprise, a freelance opportunity as a Frontend Developer. I took it. Worked on real-world projects. And then, a third offer rolled in. All this while juggling semesters. And guess what? I topped the University.
Fast forward to 2025, and freelancing is no longer the backup plan for folks between jobs. It's a full-blown industry. Platforms like Upwork, Toptal, Fiverr, and specialized communities have made it possible for developers, writers, designers, and marketers to thrive without being tied to one employer. The creator economy is booming, and with remote work now normalised, freelancers are in high demand.
What makes freelancing appealing isn’t just flexibility, it’s autonomy. You choose your projects, your clients, and your rates. You’re not just building someone else's dream; you’re shaping your own career narrative.
After four years of freelancing, I’m actively looking for new projects, especially in frontend development, technical writing and content creation for developer tools, SaaS platforms, or emerging tech startups. If you're building a product and need someone who understands both code and content, I’d love to collaborate.

Whether you're a startup founder needing crisp product documentation or a blog editor seeking engaging tutorials, I bring both the voice of a developer and the storytelling of a writer.
Freelancing isn't just a job, it's a mindset. It's about being resourceful, constantly evolving, and creating value, project after project. And as I continue this journey, I'm excited to see where the next collaboration takes me.
