TapVoter was born out of frustration.
While serving on the board of JCI Mandaue chapter (a local organization of Junior Chamber International Philippines, formerly known as The Jaycees), I found myself tasked with managing our elections. What should have been a simple process turned into an unnecessarily complicated one: printing paper ballots, distributing them to members, collecting them back, manually counting votes, and double-checking for accuracy.
I searched for a digital solution—something simple, secure, and ideally free for non-profits like ours. What I found were either:
Enterprise systems with price tags our organization couldn't justify
So-called "free" tools that required payment to actually start an election
Solutions so complex they required technical expertise we didn't have
So I built TapVoter—the tool I wished existed.
