Problem Statement:
Libraries often house large collections, making it difficult for users to locate specific books or know their availability status. The challenge was to design a mobile application that streamlines book searches, provides clear availability statuses, and facilitates an easy reservation system for users. The goal was to enhance the library experience by making book access more efficient and user-friendly.
Design Approach:
1. Search Screen:
The Search Screen allows users to search for books by title, author, or genre, with dynamic results shown below. Book suggestions, categories, and intuitive icons for saving or adjusting preferences enhance user exploration and ease of use.
2. Book Detail Screen:
The Book Detail Screen shows key information like availability, location, and a brief description, with clear options to reserve or borrow copies. Star ratings and easy interactions help users make informed decisions about book selection.
3. Reservation Confirmation Screen:
The Reservation Confirmation Screen provides key details like pick-up location, date, and instructions, with a visual library image enhancing user engagement. Clear design ensures users know exactly when and where to collect their reserved items.
Key Features:
- Search Functionality: Allows users to search by various criteria such as title, author, or genre, with instant search suggestions and results displayed in an easy-to-navigate format.
- Book Availability: Clearly indicates whether physical or electronic copies are available, improving decision-making for users.
- User Interaction: The design simplifies the process of reserving books and tracking reservations, reducing complexity for users and making their journey efficient.
- Recommendations & Categories: The app offers similar book recommendations and allows users to explore other genres based on their preferences.
