With less than 15k followers!
About a year ago, I was running a semi-successful personal brand on TikTok, where I was making videos that ended up gaining around 14k followers. I focused on teaching people how to build their own brands and improve their video editing skills.
Eventually, I decided to turn that experience into digital products, so I opened my own online store. Here’s the simple but effective strategy I used:
Provide FREE Value
I made videos that gave people actionable advice for improvement. Instead of pumping out 30+ videos every month, I focused on quality, making 15 videos a month that offered real value and were edited to impress.
Give to get
Along with my videos, I offered free resources, like access to my newsletter, digital products, and a Discord community. Not only did this help my audience, but it also gave me more ways to promote my products once I launched.
Posting Strategy
This was the approach I used for TikTok:
Interesting Videos - These were focused on entertainment with cool visuals and fun facts, but they didn’t provide direct advice.
Value Videos - These videos were packed with free advice and tips that my audience could use right away.
Plug - These were promotional posts where I talked about my digital products and encouraged viewers to check them out.
I used this strategy over and over again and I sold over 1000 digital products without investing a dime. Unfortunately I have made some mistakes that lead me to deleting that personal brand and literally becoming ghost. So now I'm rebuilding everything from scratch.
