The Konkan Railway Headquarters came up at Navi Mumbai in exactly 45 days (i.e. 15,000 sq.ft of work from design to handing over) This project is the first project at SFA (Sabu Francis & Associates) that used TAD (The Architect's Desktop) in the background to design and monitor the execution. The railway made by Konkan Railway Corporation is one of the most complex projects in the world during its time and the railway itself is considered as an important landmark in Indian Engineering. It has won several international awards and the then chairman, E. Sreedharan, was the leader who set everything in place. Those railway men acknowledge that our architectural design work of their headquarters provided the right context for their own work, as can be seen by this letter of appreciation from the then chief engineer of Konkan Railway, Mr. S.D. This possibly is also the best testimonial to TAD, one of the oldest object oriented design software in the world, a sane alternative to conventional BIM
