Website Headings

Ever found yourself on a website, feeling overwhelmed in a sea of text?

While concise copy is key, many websites lack clear structure due to the improper use of headings.

Headings are more than just formatting tools; they're essential for both user experience and SEO. Let's explore why they matter:

👉 Clarity: Properly structured content with clear headings (H1 for main titles, H2 for sections, etc.) makes it easier for website visitors to navigate and find what they need.

👉 Visual Appeal: Breaking content into manageable chunks through headings enhances readability and makes the page more visually appealing.

👉 SEO Boosts: Search engines prefer well-structured pages, so using headings correctly signals the importance of each section and improve search rankings.

👉 Web Accessibility: Screen readers rely on headings to understand the web page structure to read out loud. They also offer shortcuts to jump from one heading to the next, helping in navigation.

Two key things to keep in mind with regard to headings are:

🔸Use headings in proper order i.e., H1, H2, H3 and so on.

🔸A web page can have only one H1 tag.

While it may seem very simple, every single step we take towards improving our website helps in better user experience and in turn helps SEO performance.
