Because to take the path less travelled, one needs to be insane
Insanity is defined as the state of being seriously mentally ill, OR being extremely foolish OR making irrational decisions.
But what does it really mean to be 'rational'?
Who defines rationality in this (strange) world?
Does every living soul even share the same 'definition' of rationality?
Does it mean "following the herd"? Making the same decisions as everyone else around you, even if those decisions don't favour you?
Probably yes.
But what if one decides to against the current? To make choices that aren't as popular? To do what most people would consider 'heretic' behaviour?
The world would immediately classify this person as 'Insane'.
But is that person really insane? Or are they just acting in their own interest?
Let's take a look at the world around us & then decide.
To talk about a business that generates profits (not just revenue) in a world where companies are raising billions of dollars with no clear path to profitability is considered... insane.
To advocate for a 40-hour work week when CEOs 'flex' their capabilities of working 70, 80, and 90 hours a week is considered... insane.
To live within one's means & save money for the (uncertain) future when people take out loans just to fund their exotic trips is considered... insane.
To write an article like this instead of (mindlessly) scrolling through Instagram reels is considered... insane.
To say NO when everyone around you is saying YES is considered... insane.
What was once considered 'sane' is now 'insane' & vice versa!
And you know what they call an insane person?
The Joker!
I am the Joker. (And maybe you're one too!)
Because to take the path less travelled (that's right for you), one needs to be insane (by society's definition)!
