Public Systems (also known as social welfare systems) are established to provide basic levels of well-being to the citizens. These systems include programmes such as food and cash assistance, employment schemes, systems for law and order, public health and transport. Systems such as TPDS and MGNERGA are implemented using public finances with direct and indirect support of national or state governments and multi-lateral organizations. Public systems lab has been established as a collaborative effort of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) – India’s premier technology institute, Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) established at IIT Delhi, and United Nations (UN) – World food program (WFP). Vision: To be a global leader in providing innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions to make Public Systems more effective and efficient and enhance their access and utilization by the communities.
