Open Collective - Product

Open Collective is a financial management platform enabling grassroots groups to transparently raise and spend money.

I started working with Open Collective as an individual design contributor, then transitioned to a client relationship, and, a couple of projects and years later, I found myself leading the design operations of the organization.

As Open Collective's Head of Design, I led design projects across the organization and some satellite projects. I led the maintenance and scaling of the design system. I developed a diverse product design strategy and implementation for various features that fueled the communities hosted on the platform and spearheaded the branding efforts for both the product and marketing initiatives. This work involved extensive cross-collaboration, facilitation, and documentation efforts, making my experience a transformative learning process that shaped my creative identity into a holistic design production role.

My leadership at Open Collective helped fuel its growth to more than 15,000 groups, and 100,000 active users to manage over USD 35M annually.
