Few days ago, I was playing around with turning my animations[dot]dev certificate into a video, where the melted yellow liquid actually animates. I tried out a bunch of image-to-video models like Adobe Firefly, Veo 2, Kling, Pika, and a few others. Veo 2 mostly got it right.
That immediately gave me the idea to create video templates for both the light and dark versions of the certificate. The goal is to let users generate their own animated certificates by simply providing the URL to theirs, so dynamic details like their name and completion date get embedded into the video frames.
So the day after, I vibe-coded the whole thing using Bolt.
It also made me realize that digital certificates have always been static, even though it's now easier than ever to add motion with AI tools. This was a small test to see how motion could add some life to a certificate.
I think the new Airbnb Lava icon format might have subconsciously inspired this.
