View Project
Hey everyone,
Does anyone else end up with a dozen open tabs and a separate notes app, only to struggle to remember why you found a particular webpage useful?
I ran into this constantly while researching for a project. I was always losing context and wasting time switching between my browser and my note-taking app.
To solve this, I built Yotes, a simple Chrome extension that lets you attach notes and capture quotes directly on any webpage through a quick-access popup.
The goal was to streamline my workflow and maintain focus. Here’s how it helps:
1. Attach your thoughts directly to the page. Your notes are saved and automatically reappear when you revisit, giving you instant context.
2. Instantly quote your sources. Just select any text on a page to add it as a formatted quote to your notes.
3. Stay in your flow. The quick popup lets you jot down ideas without ever leaving the page, ending the constant need to switch to other apps.
4. Decide what to read. The popup also shows you quick page stats (like estimated reading time and word count), helping you decide if you want to dive in right now.
5. It's private and always accessible. All your notes are stored locally in your browser, so your data is yours. Just open the popup anytime to see your notes for that page.
I built this to help me stay organized, and I thought it might be useful for some of you too. I'd love for you to try it out and let me know what you think!
