The contemporary era is characterized by an increasingly aging global population, a demographic shift driven by advancements in medical science and improved living standards. While extended lifespans are a positive development, they are not invariably accompanied by healthy aging. The rising prevalence of age-related diseases presents significant societal and individual challenges. The AgeWise website was conceived to identify and address the critical pain points individuals encounter in managing aging, thereby demonstrating its indispensable necessity. One primary challenge is the proliferation of unscientific and unreliable information concerning aging. The internet and popular media are saturated with unsubstantiated claims and exaggerated narratives regarding anti-aging and health promotion. This deluge of information makes it exceedingly difficult for the general public to discern credible sources, leading to confusion and the risk of detrimental health practices or f inancial losses based on erroneous advice. AgeWise directly confronts this issue by exclusively sourcing information from highly reputable academic databases, including PubMed, Nature Aging, Science, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIA). By providing only scientifically validated knowledge, AgeWise ensures that users can make informed decisions, reflecting its core philosophy that effective aging management begins with accurate and trustworthy information. Another significant challenge is the limited accessibility of cutting-edge geroscience research to the general public. The field of aging is dynamic and rapidly evolving, with new mechanisms, compounds, and therapeutic strategies being discovered regularly. However, academic papers and research findings are often replete with specialized terminology and complex data, rendering them largely inaccessible to non-experts. Furthermore, access to many academic journals is restricted by paywalls. AgeWise mitigates this information gap by integrating the Tavily Web Search API, which enables real-time searching of the latest academic literature. This information is then summarized in a user-friendly format, making complex scientific concepts digestible. The clear citation of sources, presented in a style similar to Perplexity or ChatGPT, further enhances transparency and allows users to verify the information directly, thereby upholding academic integrity. Furthermore, there is a notable absence of personalized aging management information. Given the unique genetic predispositions, lifestyles, and health statuses of individuals, a one-size-fits-all approach to aging management is inherently ineffective. Personalized strategies, encompassing dietary adjustments, supplement regimens, and lifestyle modifications, are crucial. Traditional information dissemination methods struggle to accommodate such personalization. AgeWise addresses this by incorporating an intelligent memory system that retains the context of user conversations, and a comprehensive supplement and food management system that analyzes individual intake records and potential interactions. Through its integrated AI consultation feature, AgeWise provides tailored advice, empowering users to develop personalized aging management strategies that are optimally suited to their specific needs. Finally, the complexity of scientific information and the difficulty in its comprehension pose a substantial barrier. Understanding the biological mechanisms of aging or the precise actions of specific compounds requires specialized knowledge. It is therefore paramount to convey such intricate information in an easily understandable manner. AgeWise utilizes Markdown rendering to structure information for enhanced readability and leverages AI's natural language processing capabilities to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely. This approach enables users to acquire in-depth knowledge about aging without being overwhelmed, fostering a proactive and informed approach to their health management. These identified pain points underscore the critical need for a service like AgeWise. The project was initiated with a strong commitment to addressing these challenges, and it was significantly influenced by the professor's emphasis on leveraging AI technologies in the Geroscience course. AgeWise transcends the mere application of AI as a tool; it positions AI at the core of its service, actively utilizing it to solve complex problems in aging management. This approach exemplifies the practical application of academic knowledge and the proactive adoption of cutting-edge technological trends.
