This is not an ngrok clone. It includes a built-in WAF (web application firewall) with features such as geolocation blocking, IP and CIDR blocking, request pattern blocking, and custom error-rate thresholds. It is built on a serverless GCP stack, and I plan to open source it later this year. Because it is serverless, you can run a fully functional local tunnel at low or zero cost while keeping it secure for your organization.
The problem with ngrok is that you may see a large number of malicious requests attempting to scan your local server. The built-in WAF helps block unwanted noise so you can focus on what matters. It lets you expose your local server without constantly worrying about the latest CVEs you have not had time to address yet, because you are busy turning ideas into reality. wsgrok helps protect your machine and exposes your local port through a clean, nice-looking public URL.
