We addressed the Sustainable Management of Waste by creating an AI-integrated drinking water dispenser. This innovative solution uses AI to determine if waste bottles are reusable or recyclable. Recyclable bottles are compacted by an inbuilt hydraulic press for efficient recycling transport, while reusable bottles can be washed and refilled. Our main goals were to educate users on recyclability and reusability, promote participation in waste disposal, and provide drinking water. Despite a limited dataset, we developed an AI model with 87% accuracy in identifying recyclable bottles within 24 hours. This project not only highlights practical applications of machine learning but also showcases our team's dedication and innovation. I’m particularly proud of our collaborative effort and the opportunity to apply my machine learning skills. I will share the AI model code on my GitHub for further development. This project is a testament to our commitment to sustainable practices and teamwork.
