Junior Software Engineer

Job Description

Story Health is an exciting new startup transforming healthcare through virtualization of patient and clinician experiences. Story Health is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our team. You will work on all systems including patient facing user interfaces, backend algorithms, clinician tools, and practical machine learning solutions where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Be a key contributor to the early stages of an innovative health tech startup contributing wherever needed

• Work with a cross-functional product team to implement technical products

• Solve product problems through analysis, design, and development of technical solutions

• Design, code, test, and maintain production software systems

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in computer science or a related field

• Strong collaborative mindset that works well with a team to deliver

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of a nimble, remote team to find the simple, clever solution

• Ability to come up to learn new technologies and new domains quickly with a deep curiosity and self-starting learning skills

• 1+ year of experience shopping software as a hands on member of a team or a master’s degree in computer science or a related field

• Experience writing unit tests and using static code analysis tools

• Experience writing HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

• Experience with SQL and relational databases

• A passion for health and medicine

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript and React

• Understanding of REST APIs
