We are one of the fastest-growing podcast & audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Community team. Join us on the quest to shape the way people learn, discover, and unwind through audio experiences and thereby enrich lives through listening.

The Pathfinders squad at Podimo is seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer with some Frontend experience who takes full ownership of their work — from feature inception to completion — and excels in cross-squad collaboration. Work on high-quality feature implementation in Kotlin, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks
Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients
Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and allow for regression testing
Participate in technical discussions with your peers

You have 3+ years of experience in Kotlin / Java or any other JVM-language
You have some experience developing Frontend in TypeScript and React.js
You have good experience using Spring Boot and experience in developing REST APIs
You have strong OOP knowledge
You have experience in using PostgreSQL or any other relational database
You have experience in using PubSub, Kafka or similar messaging solutions
You have some experience/are willing to working with containers and utilizing tools like Kubernetes
You have some experience/are willing to work with Async programming
You have good communication skills in English as this is our company language across our markets
Having knowledge or experience with GraphQL is a benefit
Experience in designing and developing microservices is an advantage
Knowledge of financial domain is an advantage
Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!

Salary ranges from 4000-7000 EUR GROSS depending on experience, location, and seniority.
