What You’ll Do

  • Implement backend features and fixes in C#/.NET for payment flows (auth, capture, refunds, reconciliation), APIs, and internal services.

  • Analyze system behavior and propose improvements to performance, reliability, and security; turn findings into well-scoped backlog items.

  • Harden integrations with gateways and third-party providers

  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews and documentation.

  • Ability to evaluate new features, assess performance impacts, and identify risk factors early.

  • Help maintain CI/CD pipelines and release hygiene; follow SDLC conventions and team coding standards.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers to clarify requirements, estimate work, and communicate risk and tradeoffs.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure uptime and responsive incident handling.

Experience You Bring

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including building and operating backend services in production.

  • Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET/.NET Core, and RESTful API development.

  • Practical experience with AWS or another major cloud (e.g., EKS/ECS, EC2, ElastiCache/Redis, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch).

  • Comfortable with message-driven and service-based architectures; familiarity with at-least-once delivery semantics and idempotent processing.

  • Experience with NoSQL and relational databases; able to write efficient queries and reason about data modeling and performance.

  • Solid understanding of testing practices (unit, integration, contract), code quality, and peer review.

  • Working knowledge of SDLC, Agile practices, and DevOps principles; able to ship reliably and incrementally.

  • Clear, respectful communication and a bias for action; comfortable collaborating across teams and functions.

Nice to Have

  • Payments or fintech experience (gateways, tokenization, webhooks, chargebacks, reconciliation, PCI considerations).

  • Experience with Ruby or React in a production environment.

  • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).

  • Performance profiling and tuning within distributed systems.
