Software Engineering Intern

Elekta is seeking a software development intern to help support the delivery of our latest cancer registry product offering. You will be an active participant in the creation of a utility program that will enable quick generation of scripts to update metadata and facilitate the quick introduction of required Registry standards. In doing so, you will learn and apply the quality standards required of a cancer registry as well as gain an understanding of the importance of a registry system in the fight against cancer.

These positions will be based in the San Jose office and will in office.

RESPONSIBILITIES - 

• Work with Senior DB developers to follow the established design pattern for the scripting utility.

• Check in code to the working repository

• Document the changes/additions made

• Unit testing of the code changed/added for quality

• Provide weekly progress and status reports on the project 

• Demo the utility during sprint demos

• Participate on the Cancer registry standup meeting at regular intervals
   
  

RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES – 

• Completed or completing an accredited undergraduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a related field or equivalent   experience.

• Knowledge of EAV model SQL Databases.

• Knowledge of Database management systems.

• Experience with advanced SQL queries.

• Must have good oral and written communication skills.

• Willingness to learn and innovate.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Prio professional software development experience is a plus.

• Transferrable skills and knowledge from prior professional experience or academic
  coursework relevant to Healthcare or Life Sciences is a plus.
