Astrion Intern Program - Android Development Intern

Astrion is starting development on an Android app that will be used for drone imaging. Our team is looking for a thoughtful and motivated intern that can develop a prototype that will serve as the basis for all future work. Candidates will work with mentors and the customer to establish requirements, design the UI, and code the prototype in Android Studios. Future work on the app may include computer vision, AI, and GPS.

We are the AI applications team. Our focus is on learning new technologies and bringing them to our customers. We are a small and fast-moving team that enjoys learning and growing. We regularly work both as a team and as solo developers and often peer-teach things we’ve learned. Whether team members are interns or senior developers, everyone owns their own product.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearence if needed

• Pursuing degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field from an accredited university

• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student

• Strong programming fundamentals

• Java and/or Kotlin programming experience

• Experience with Android Studio and the Android SDK

• Ability to self-teach new skills

• Ability to problem-solve

• Strong math skills, including algebra and geometry
