YOUNG CITY MAKERS DUBAI is a challenge hosted by the government of Dubai which enables students to provide solution to real life problems which the government faces. Its main aim is for students to provide creative ideas which will help improve Dubai. My team had an option from choosing between “ Improving Government Services” and “ Future Government Services”. My team chose “Future Government Services” Preparation- We chose this competition because it would provide a good insight into government functioning and how they solve day to day problems. Our project is called Muka’afa, which in English stands for “reward” Our project enable daily users of public transportation in Dubai to collect points/ rewards in a dedicated card based system. We thought of how this would benefit Dubai. We came to the conclusion that if more people start using public transportation, the number of cars on the roads will be comparatively less thereby reducing the carbon emissions drastically.
